The Rowbarge is situated on the banks of the Kennet and Avon Canal in a truly picturesque location  in Woolhampton, just past the swing bridge. Believe it or not, the pub was established as a beer shop in 1723 to serve the needs of the navvies who were building the canal, and it has been part of the fabric of the landscape ever since, only with a slightly less muddy bunch of regulars and a dramatically improved menu.
